Most Common Health Issues
A lot of people have some type of health condition that affects their daily life. Some
of these problems are very common and can be treated, thesunchronicle.marketminute while others are more
serious.

Stress
Chronic stress can have a variety of effects on the body. It can weaken the immune
system, cause digestive and reproductive problems, increase the risk of heart attack
and stroke, and speed up the aging process.
It can also rewire the brain, putting you at increased risk for mental health issues
like anxiety and depression.
Tobacco smoke
Smoking cigarettes and other tobacco products is one of the most harmful things
that you can do to your health. It causes lung cancer, emphysema, and other lung
diseases. It is also linked to a higher rate of heart disease, diabetes, and many other
conditions.
Thousands of chemicals are present in tobacco smoke, including nicotine and at
least 7,000 other toxic chemicals that can be dangerous. These chemicals are
released when a cigarette or other tobacco product is burnt, and they can damage
cells and tissues.
The American Lung Association says that if you inhale just a little bit of tobacco
smoke, it can have a very negative impact on your health. Even smoking just a few
cigarettes a day can make you more likely to get lung cancer, aortic aneurysm (a
balloon-like bulge in an artery in your chest), and other diseases.

Children exposed to secondhand smoke are at a much higher risk of developing
asthma, respiratory infections and middle ear disease. They are also more
susceptible to sudden infant death syndrome, cot death and glue ear.
Pregnant women who smoke have a higher risk of having an ectopic pregnancy,
which is when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus. This can be very
dangerous for the baby and could require surgery to remove it, such as a C-section
delivery.
In addition, women who smoke during pregnancy are more likely to have an
abnormally large placenta (placenta previa), which can be difficult to deliver or lead
to premature birth and other medical problems for the baby.
The lungs are very sensitive to smoke, so smokers who are pregnant are at an even
greater risk of a baby born with breathing problems and other health issues. Those
who have asthma are at a particularly high risk of having a baby with severe asthma
or emphysema.
Breathing in cigarette smoke is also harmful to pregnant women because it can lead
to miscarriages, birth defects, and other health complications for the unborn child.
It also can increase the chances that a woman will develop a type of cancer called
lung adenocarcinoma, which is a cancer that begins in the lungs.
Tobacco smoke can harm the kidneys, bladder and liver. The CDC reports that
smokers are three times more likely to develop these conditions than non-smokers.
Cigarettes can also cause other health problems, such as rheumatoid arthritis and
osteoporosis. These diseases can result in joint pain and stiffness, and bone
fractures.
